2019 Guangzhou International New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Forum, EVE help build the “Auto Power Dream”!

Nov 25,2019

From November 22nd to 23rd, the 2019 Guangzhou International New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Forum hosted by China Council of the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub Council was held in Guangzhou. On November 23rd, Dr. Du Shuanglong from EVE was invited to attend the International Power Battery Technology Innovation Session and delivered a wonderful speech on "Application Scenarios and Simulation Technology of LFP in the New Situation".

The theme of this forum is "Innovation Drives World", which aims to build a global new energy vehicle industry high-end communication platform, explore new energy vehicle innovation development paths and lead the high-quality development of new energy vehicle industry.

Dr. Du shared in the report that based on the national energy strategy market policy guidance, LFP batteries with high safety, low cost and excellent performance have been widely used in passenger cars, special vehicles, passenger vehicle markets, energy storage markets and marine market. Under the influence of the new energy vehicle subsidy decline, "long cycle, high energy density, low cost" lithium batteries have become the core needs of car company customers. Low-cost LFP technology development and low-cost process ideas will become technology route layout that highly match market demand. Its raw materials are taken from used LFP battery pole pieces, can realize LFP short-cycle recycling through extraction technology, material reversible repair technology, and powder processing technology, which has a large price advantage to achieve the purpose of reducing costs and increasing efficiency.

Dr. Du pointed out that technological innovation is the core competitiveness of enterprises in the post-subsidy era. To meet the needs of long-cycle, high-energy density, and low-cost lithium batteries, EVE has gathered three advantages.

First, EVE has an efficient evaluation platform for materials, batteries, and modules. There’re six major laboratories in EVE that have advanced material characterization and device manufacturing, pilot test lines and electrochemical material testing. From cell to the module, the safety test platform provides a guarantee for the research on the comprehensive electrochemical performance and analysis of thermal characteristics and safety improvement technology of lithium-ion batteries. Secondly, mature technology and techniques help reduce the cost. Thirdly, EVE uses advanced CAE simulation technology to complete the simulation analysis of the battery system under complex multi-physics coupling condition to guide the design and optimization of the battery thermal management system, so that it has characteristics of high heat exchange efficiency, good reliability and strong temperature control ability to ensure the overall performance of the battery system under working conditions.

With the active promotion of the "new four modernizations" of the automotive industry (electrification, intelligence, networking, sharing), the vigorous development of 5G technology, national policy guidance and market demand, the new energy vehicle market is bound to be renewed and empowered! Facing the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry, EVE creates core competitiveness through technological innovation, actively promotes the development of the industry and helps build the “Auto Power Dream”.
